Meet Turtles! What a talented guy! He has excelled at the PACK Program, an innovative program which pairs prison inmates with shelter dogs for vocational training, obedience education, and mutual rehabilitation. While paired with an inmate-trainer for this 8-week intensive program, each graduate learns all basic commands, such as sit, stay, heel, and lay down, that are needed in order to pass a Canine Good Citizen evaluation. Turtles, being a doggie genius, not only mastered the basic commands, he has also learned take, touch, target, bring, give, leave it, shake, up, pray, high five, and speak. Turtles is fantastic on the agility course as well, completing the slalom course at a close to competition pace, so a family who would like to keep this training up would be ideal! He loves his ball, to the point that he can guard it a bit if allowed so we suggest that balls are removed during playtime with other dogs and children. He is as handsome as they come and is ready to go to his fur-ever home when he graduates in the middle of July so apply to meet Turtles today!
